The restoration of the Cathedral Of St. John the Evangelist in Kuala Lumpur focused on Specialized Interior Upgrading and careful renewal rather than a complete redesign. With its soaring vaulted ceilings and classical columns, the sanctuary required methodical access planning and precision workmanship to preserve its historic character.
Full-height scaffolding systems were erected to facilitate ceiling and plaster repairs, surface refinishing, repainting, and concealed service upgrades through controlled floor trenching. Throughout the works, pews, altar features, and heritage detailing were systematically protected to ensure minimal disruption to the cathedral’s architectural fabric.
The project prioritised structural care, material preservation, and specialised interior upgrading within an active religious setting, ensuring restoration works were carried out with sensitivity and technical precision.
